Elijah 1776

Elijah was a Soldier of the Revolution. He served in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. Elijah was only 15 when he and his father, Jesse, went off to war.

Elijah was born in North Carolina in 1760 and returned there after the War for Independence. In 1811, he followed his son, Issac, to Alabama. Elijah died there in 1824. Elijah Pugh was my great-great-great-great grandfather.

This blog is about the things he cared about in life- freedom, family and faith- the same things most Americans hold dear today. He pledged his life and fought in a deadly war to obtain his freedom, to protect his family and to practice his faith in God – without censorship or servitude to others. Today, each of us are in a war for the same things.
